Websites for home builders

Websites for Ocala-area home builders — floor plans, communities, and a long sales cycle that needs nurturing.

What triggers the call

A year-long decision. The site is a research library, not a lead form.

The job

What the site actually has to do

A new home is a decision that takes six to eighteen months, and for most of that time the customer is not ready to talk to anyone. The site is not a lead form with pages attached — it is a research library that has to stay useful across a year of visits, and the marketing job is nurture rather than conversion. Structurally this is different from every other trade on this list.

Build for the visitor who is not ready

Most visits happen long before contact, and the site's job in that period is to be genuinely useful and to be remembered. Floor plans, communities, specifications, the process, what is standard and what is an upgrade. A site optimized purely to capture a lead on the first visit misreads where the customer is.

Floor plans and communities are the architecture

These are what people search and what they return to compare. Each plan and each community needs its own page with real detail — square footage, layout, what is included, what the community actually offers — because that is the level at which the decision is made and the level at which the search happens.

Nurture across months, not a single conversion

The realistic conversion is a plan download, a community update signup, or a saved favorite — and then months of light, useful contact. That is why the CRM integration matters more here than for any other trade: a lead that arrives and is followed up for two weeks and then forgotten is the standard failure in this business.

Publish what you can about pricing

Starting prices by plan or community, with what they include, filter enormously. Publishing nothing means every inquiry starts with the affordability conversation, and a large share of them end there — after consuming your sales time.

Checklist

What we build for this trade

Written to be checked against a finished site rather than admired in a proposal.

  • A page per floor plan and per community, with real specifications
  • Starting price by plan or community, with inclusions stated
  • A written account of the build process and realistic timelines
  • Standard versus upgrade clearly separated, because it drives every later dispute
  • Downloadable plans in exchange for contact, as the realistic first conversion
  • CRM integration with nurture over months, not a two-week follow-up
  • Move-in-ready or available-home inventory kept genuinely current
  • Treating a first visit as a failed conversion when it is a research visit
  • Renderings presented in a way that implies they are photographs of built homes
  • Inventory pages showing homes that sold months ago, which destroys trust immediately

Straight answers

Questions this trade actually asks

Why is my site getting traffic but no leads?
Frequently because the visitors are eight months from buying and the site only offers one action — contact us. Give them a reason to identify themselves earlier: a plan download, a community update, a pricing sheet. Then nurture. The lead was there; the site had nothing to offer someone who was not ready.
Should I publish starting prices?
Almost always yes, with what is included. The alternative is spending sales time on the affordability conversation with people who were never in range, and losing people who assumed you were out of theirs.
How long is the sales cycle really?
Six to eighteen months for a large share of buyers, with long quiet periods. That is why measuring this site on first-visit conversion is misleading, and why follow-up that stops after two weeks throws away most of the pipeline.
Do floor plan pages actually rank?
They can, and they attract exactly the person who is comparing seriously. They need real detail — dimensions, inclusions, options — rather than a rendering and a name, because a thin plan page competes with every other builder's thin plan page.
How important is the CRM here?
More than in any other trade on this list. With a year-long cycle, the difference between builders is almost entirely follow-up discipline, and that is a system rather than a personality. A lead that arrives in an inbox and gets chased for a fortnight is a lead you paid for and discarded.
